TC Group Appoints Tim Carr as Chair as it Moves From Recovery to Growth

TC Group has appointed Tim Carr as Non-Executive Chair, effective 1 October 2026, as the Group builds on its recovery and prepares for its next phase of growth.

The appointment has the backing of shareholders Dan and Georgie Wooler and Polly Webb. Dan Wooler continues as Group CEO, supported by a strengthened Board.

Building a stronger platform for growth
Over the past 18 months, TC Group has made significant progress in strengthening its financial position and expanding its business. Adjusted EBITDA reached £1.6m in the five months to September 2026, compared with £0.5m in the same period last year. The Group has also secured £16m of new funding facilities with HSBC and acquired Edit Office in March 2026.

Edit Office now contributes more than 45% of Group revenue. The enlarged Group has pro forma annualised revenue of more than £60m and employs 150 people across the UK, Ireland, Poland and China.

Tim’s appointment supports the next stage of this journey: integrating Edit Office, refreshing the Group’s three-year strategic plan and pursuing further growth, including acquisitions.

Experience and continuity
A CIMA-qualified accountant, Tim brings 25 years’ board-level experience as a CFO and CEO, including leading more than 30 acquisitions and disposals. He has worked with TC Group since February 2025 through his firm, Tide Advisory, supporting finance leadership, banking relationships, funding and the acquisition of Edit Office.

As Chair, Tim will lead the Board, help establish a clearly defined Group purpose and values, and strengthen risk oversight, Board evaluation and reporting to shareholders, lenders and colleagues.

Dan Wooler, Group CEO, said: “Tim already knows this business, its lenders and its numbers. As Chair he will lead a stronger Board and hold us to account for delivery as we integrate Edit Office and pursue further significant growth, including acquisitions.”

A strengthened leadership team
Andrew Bowen joined as Operations Director in May, and Dave Edkins joined as Group Finance Director in September. Darren Campbell, Edit Office’s Sales Director, joined the Board following the acquisition. Alex Worswick’s role as Product and Brand Director has expanded, while Georgie Wooler remains on the Board as shareholder director. Gavin Howard has also joined as Advisor to the Board, bringing more than 20 years’ experience as a COO in financial services.

Shareholders Dan and Georgie Wooler and Polly Webb said: “As TC Group has grown, we wanted an experienced Chair to bring greater structure to how we plan and make decisions. Tim has the credibility and track record to do that, and we trust him to lead the Board.”

Tide Advisory will continue to support the executive team on defined strategic projects under a separate agreement approved by shareholders. Tim has declared his interest and takes no part in Board decisions relating to that agreement.

Looking ahead
Founded in 1990, TC Group serves office, education and commercial furniture customers across the UK and Ireland through its TC and Edit Office businesses, including the Titan and Woodstock Leabank brands. More than 1.5 million products were shipped through the Group’s transactional and project channels in the last 12 months.

With a stronger financial position, an expanded business and a strengthened Board, TC Group is focused on delivering its next phase of growth.

Tim Carr said: “TC Group has a strong platform and a clear ambition. My job is to make sure the Board is as good as the business: clear on strategy, rigorous on performance and open with shareholders and lenders. I look forward to working with Dan, the shareholders, the Board and the whole team to deliver that growth.”
